Dade County Federal Credit Union would like to remind its’ members that we will never contact you via your mobile phone and ask you for your debit card PIN. Authorities have informed us that fraudsters continue to target individuals with text messages and phone calls requesting member information. In a recent report, individuals were contacted (unknown number) via their mobile phone and asked a simple question “can you hear me?” Once you say “yes”, the call is then recorded and used as an authorization to process charges. There is no more information as far as who or what they target; therefore, we ask that if you received a suspicious call like this one, hang up and don’t respond. If you believe you have been a victim of this scam or any similar scam, contact us immediately so we can issue you a new debit or credit card.
