On May 21, 2026, DCFCU’s Main Branch in Sweetwater welcomed more than 300 participants for an evening defined by energy, purpose, and community pride. What began as a tribute to those who protect and serve became a meaningful gathering centered on gratitude and connection.
Participants took part in either a 1.5-mile walk or a 3-mile run, each moving at their own pace but sharing a common goal: supporting our law enforcement community. Whether they walked, ran, or cheered from the sidelines, everyone contributed to the spirit of the evening.
More Than a Fitness Event
This event was about more than distance—it was about purpose.
“Running in Blue” served as a heartfelt tribute to the individuals who wear the badge each day with courage, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to keeping our communities safe. It gave us, as a credit union, the chance to express our thanks in a way that united people.
Guests enjoyed complimentary food and refreshments, meaningful conversations, and time to connect in a relaxed, welcoming setting. A strong sense of unity carried through the evening.
Honoring Our Distinguished Guests
We were honored to welcome respected law enforcement leaders to this special event, including:
- Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office
- Leadership from the Sweetwater Police Department
- Representatives from City of Miami, Miccosukee and Hialeah Police Departments
- Leadership from Miami-Dade Schools Police Department
- And many other distinguished guests from across the region
Their presence added to the significance of the evening and reinforced the strong connection between DCFCU and the communities we proudly serve.
A Message from Leadership
Federica Chalumeau, Chief Experience Officer at DCFCU, shared:
“Running in Blue is more than a fitness event; it is our way of standing beside those who protect and serve us every single day. We are proud to bring our members and neighbors together to celebrate their dedication and honor their sacrifice.”
