A Day of Gratitude, Giving, and Good Times in Miami Gardens

Dade County Federal Credit Union proudly hosted the Miami Gardens Back-to-School Cookout and Member Appreciation Day on Saturday, August 2nd—and what a day it was! From the very beginning, the event was filled with joy, laughter, and a strong sense of community as families, staff, and volunteers came together to celebrate the season and support one another.

We were honored to provide over 85 backpacks to local students, helping ease the burden of back-to-school shopping for families in our community. It was a small gesture that we hope

made a big difference as students prepare for the new academic year with the tools they need to succeed.

Throughout the day, more than 100 meals were served to guests, creating the perfect blend of comfort and community. Plates were filled with grilled hot dogs, chicken, rice, mac and cheese, and of course, the fan-favorite—refreshing snow cones that kept everyone cool under the sun.

The sounds of upbeat music and the scent of delicious food brought everyone together, creating a festive atmosphere that could be felt in every corner of the event.

One of the highlights of the day was our exciting giveaway. Three lucky winners rolled away with brand-new bikes, and ten more walked away with gift cards—sparking joy, cheers, and community spirit all around. But the real prize was the connection shared among attendees. People danced, mingled, reconnected with neighbors, and made new friends—all while celebrating what it means to be part of the DCFCU family.

This day was about more than just school supplies and food. It was a celebration of gratitude, teamwork, and sportsmanship, values we hold close at Dade County Federal. Events like these

remind us that we are more than a credit union, we are a community partner, a friendly neighbor, and a proud supporter of the families we serve.

To everyone who attended, participated, and helped make the day a success, thank you. Your

energy, kindness, and support made the event truly special. We’re so grateful to be part of such a vibrant and united community, and we look forward to creating many more meaningful memories together.
