Beyond supporting their departments, our interns participated in a comprehensive internship program designed to help them grow both personally and professionally. Throughout the summer, they attended weekly workshops covering a variety of topics, including financial literacy, career readiness, professional development, and leadership skills.

One of the highlights of the program was a capstone project that challenged interns to work collaboratively to create and manage their own credit union. Over the course of the internship, they developed every aspect of the organization, including its mission, products and services, marketing strategies, member experience, financial planning, and operational structure. This project allowed interns to apply what they learned during their internships while gaining a deeper understanding of the cooperative financial model.

In addition to the workshops and projects, the interns supported their departments by assisting with daily tasks, participating in team projects, and learning directly from experienced professionals across the organization.

For many interns, the experience left a lasting impression.

"My time at DCFCU has been both rewarding and inspiring. The experience has allowed me to grow professionally, take on meaningful responsibilities, and work with a team that genuinely invests in the success of its employees."
– Lucas Lima Pereira, DAD Intern

"My internship at Dade County Federal Credit Union transformed classroom knowledge into real-world experience, leaving me with new skills, lasting connections, and a greater appreciation for community-focused banking."
– Keyla Gutierrez, Quality Control Intern

The program concluded with a presentation day, where the interns proudly shared their credit union projects with their supervisors, mentors, and guests. It was a great opportunity for them to showcase everything they had learned and accomplished throughout the summer.

The Gen-You team extends its heartfelt gratitude to the departments that welcomed and mentored our interns. Your commitment to sharing your expertise, providing guidance, and creating meaningful learning opportunities played a vital role in the success of this program. Thank you for investing in the next generation of professionals and for making this internship experience both impactful and memorable.

We also congratulate our interns on their accomplishments and thank them for their dedication, hard work, and positive contributions. We look forward to seeing all they achieve in the future and are proud to have been part of their professional journey.
